VISA INTERVIEW….Documents you can’t do without

Posted by saintdeb on December 9, 2007

Well friends I thought many of you would be going for your visa interviews soon. So just decided on listing the basic document requirements for your VISA interview. Please use other sources for more comprehensive information regarding other documents if needed. The best source of such information is the VISA consulate office where you have your appointment as each consulate has its own requirements.

The basic requirements are!!!!

•Web appointment letter
•DS forms, I20, Passport, SEVIS fee receipt.
•BE Mark sheets -GRE, TOEFL score cards & Course Completion Certificate
•Financial Account Summary / CA statement/ Property Evaluation Certificate
•Bank Statement

(Instead you could take your aid letter which you would have received if all your expenses are met by your aid (like RA/TA/Fellowship)!!!!!)
•Work Experience related documents / Training certificates
•Any mail corresponds with Profs

Some myths surrounding the student VISA process

  • Most rejects are on a Friday
  • Afternoon sessions are not good
  • Visa in Delhi is very easy
  • Visas are given easily in JUNE
  • VISA officials will call Bank Managers
  • One needs to have bank transactions for last 6 months
  • Lady Visa Officer reject students frequently

    hi….

consequently, even I have my interview on 6th june at the delhi embassy :-) . If you would have had time, the best thing would have been to get a new score card. However since you don’t have time, there are two options available IMO. First is to take any of the cards you might have received after you sent scores to other schools (It would have been sent again with new codes to your mailing address). If you don’t have it, I would suggest you to call up delhi embassy helpline and ask them as to what you can do!? I am sure they would help you out! You can get the numbers from vfs website!

    best of luck!!!

Hi, ETS has sent TOEFL reports to the universities where you applied. Ask those universities to scan the report and email it to you.
